Profile.fyi
Yesterday we were one of the founders applying for Y Combinator. Arpit Bhayani and I pitched Profile.fyi.
We are launching soon. Claim your dream handle on profile.fyi before its gone.
Highly recommend answering YC application questions at least every 6 months if you are a builder. Even if you are someone who is building a product feature or launching an experiment at work. The clarity you get is golden.
The beauty is in the simplicity of the questions.
Here are the key questions I recommend writing down answers for. (Edited for simplicity while keeping the spirit for wider application..)
1. Describe what you do in 50 characters or less.
Ours is - We build your career profile through storytelling.
2.What are you going to make? Please describe your product and what it does.
3.Why did you pick this idea to work on?
How do you know people need what you're making?
4.How will you make money? How much could you make?
5.Who are your competitors?
What do you understand about your business that they don't?
6. How do users find your product?
Force your self to answer in simple words so that a 4th grader can understand. No jargons, no buzzwords. If you are truth seeking, and don't BS yourself, these questions can do magic.
Our own answers have matured so much from our last application because we literally talk to customers every week and get to interact with our customers everyday. Truth seeking with humility is key here.
Wish us luck. ⚡
