Free yourself from unnecessary stress
Two liberating truths I remind myself anytime I feel stressed.
1. People don't really care about you.
We overestimate how much other people notice or observe our actions. The "spotlight effect" is real.
Remember, everyone is just going through their life worried about themselves.
So, go try out things you like to do. Goof up. There is no one looking.
2. “Nothing in life is as important as you think it is, while you are thinking about it.”
This is the "focusing illusion" from Daniel Kahneman.
So anytime something feels like a big deal, I ask myself - “Am I making it important by overthinking it?”
Free yourself from unnecessary stress.
